Implants
Optimal solutions through extensive experience
Implants are artificial tooth roots made of titanium or ceramic. They form the basis for prosthesis ,crown and bridge . Implants can replace individual teeth or ensure the hold of a prosthesis.
With us you will be treated exclusively by experienced implantologists. They have refined their techniques to perfection over many years and developed a sure feeling for color, form and function. This enables us to guarantee long-term success.
Our selection criteria are:
- Quality
- Sustainability
- Long term success
We use implants from the world’s leading implant manufacturer Straumann.
Product lines
Depending on your budget and requirements, we offer two lines:
- Basic Line implants (not offered at the Basel SBB station location).
- High end aesthetics
Gentle treatment methods
The procedure is usually carried out on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia and is completely painless. If desired, the procedure can also be performed under general anesthesia.
We offer the latest implantation procedures that work without opening by means of a computer simulation based on digital volume tomography and guided template technology.
This method shows excellent results, guarantees greater precision and safety and is gentler on the patient.
1. Advice / clarification
After a detailed examination and diagnosis, the dentist will evaluate the diagnostic documents, such as x-rays and digital measurements of the jaw and teeth, and make you a proposal.
2. Surgical procedure
Anesthesia
Implantation can usually be performed with local anesthesia, ie with the usual dental syringe. In the case of a larger number of implants, an expected longer duration of treatment or for anxious patients, we can offer treatment under general anesthesia. This treatment is carried out in collaboration with our experienced anesthetist.
Implantation
The implants are inserted into the bone in a small, painless surgical procedure. There they heal within 1 to 6 months.
Healing
Duration: In the lower jaw about 2 to 4 months, in the upper jaw about 3 to 6 months.
Healing takes time for the implant to grow into the bone. Then the implant is able to permanently absorb the functional load of a prosthetic restoration as a support and / or anchoring element.
Exposure and prosthetic restoration
After the healing time, the implant is exposed and a placeholder is integrated for a short period of time for a natural-looking shape of the gums. After about a week, the dentist will take an impression and then manufacture the dentures. After completion, the dentures are anchored over the implants.
Aftercare and care
The follow-up control and care of the implants is important. Depending on the situation, we recommend checking and cleaning the implants in the practice at least twice a year, and an X-ray should also be taken at least every 5 years.
Appropriate oral hygiene at home is essential. Inflammation of the gums, caused by dirt and food debris, endangers the implant.
Behavior for the time after the procedure will be discussed with you in detail.
Costs
The costs of an implant treatment depend very much on the type of treatment chosen or desired by the patient.
Basic line implants
Without bone augmentation and gum corrections: 3,500 CHF.
High end aesthetics
We create individual offers based on the initial situation.
Bridge
A proven solution for closing a tooth gap is the fixed bridge. To do this, the neighboring teeth are ground and crowned on the right and left. They serve as bridge piers. The artificial tooth is firmly connected to them – in the case of larger gaps it can be two or three.
Crown
A crown encompasses the entire tooth and is made of metal-ceramic or all-ceramic.
It protects the tooth when more than half of the tooth substance has already been destroyed.
Whenever possible, we use metal-free, biocompatible crowns (Zirkon or Emax).
Removable dentures
Prosthesis
A prosthesis is a removable denture. There are different types of prostheses: B. full denture, model cast or telescopic denture. They are used to supply edentulous or partially edentulous jaws. This restores the chewing function, pronunciation and aesthetics. The type of prosthesis, tooth shape, tooth color, bite height and bite position are determined individually for each patient.
